Therapy & BWRT®
When understanding the problem hasn’t been enough to change it
You may know exactly why you feel anxious, overwhelmed or triggered and still find yourself reacting in the same way.
That is because many emotional responses happen automatically, before conscious thought has had time to intervene.
My therapeutic work focuses on helping you change those responses, rather than simply becoming better at managing them.
I combine psychotherapy with BWRT® and other behavioural and psychological approaches, tailoring the work to you and what you want to change.

You do not need to know which type of therapy you need before getting in touch.
We start with what is happening for you and what you would like to be different.
What is BWRT®?
BWRT® or BrainWorking Recursive Therapy® is a modern psychological approach designed to work with automatic emotional and behavioural responses.
It can be particularly useful when you find yourself thinking:
“I know this doesn’t make sense, but I still feel it.”
Rather than relying solely on conscious thought to control the reaction, BWRT® works with the response itself.
You remain fully aware and in control throughout, and you do not need to repeatedly relive or describe every detail of difficult experiences.
Therapy shaped around you
I do not believe that one technique is right for everyone. BWRT® may form a significant part of our work, but I can also draw on wider psychotherapeutic approaches, behavioural change, mindfulness and other methods where they are useful.
Some people come with one focused issue that can be addressed relatively quickly. Others are dealing with more complex or longstanding patterns that need a broader approach.
Either way, the work remains focused on helping you create meaningful change in the present.
A focused and practical approach
Many of the people I work with are already highly self-aware. They have thought about the problem, talked about it and perhaps tried other ways of managing it. What they want now is for something to actually feel different.
That is where I believe therapy can be most useful, not simply helping you understand why something happens, but helping you change what happens next.
